Here Ye, Here Ye….

This is the HBC 18s Team, which competed at the 2017 Junior Nationals. As a Team, we placed in the top 5 at four of the major tournaments that are held during the year. This includes Thee Holiday Classic, The Socal Qualifier, The Socal Classic and the 2017 Junior Olympics. I promise you, all who have played for me, this team did everything in its power to represent the players, Coaches and Teams that have gone before them, both on the court and off. At  this years Junior Nationals, WE KNOCKED OUT Midwest Powerhouse Sports Performance of Chicago on Day 1 in a Death match, did the same to Aspire of Arizona on Day 2 and proceeded to punch Mountain View VBC’s ticket home on Day 3. All of these wins coming in Dramatic fashion. This Band of Brothers put up a fight when it counted and had each other’s back at all times. I have never er been more proud of a group of players, much respect deserved to this true TEAM.

The HBC is a boys volleyball club in the heart of Orange County that is dedicated to playing the game with passion, pride, and discipline.  We train at The HBC, Orange County’s Premier Volleyball Facility.  Club wide we are dedicated to being students of the game and constantly learning as the game is constantly changing.

We have an impressive array of coaches.  We have head coaches of the local high school, junior colleges, and universities!  As well as USA national team players and coaches.  Our coaches have won everything from CIF championships to junior Olympic golf medals to pan American cup gold medals. We believe that coaches are the key cornerstone to being a successful volleyball club.

There is a conscious effort in our club to provide a sense of brotherhood.  That we are all pulling on the same side of the rope so to speak.  We believe that this will help our players learn the value of teamwork and sharing a common passion towards a common goal that will not only help us win as a club but also help our players after they leave us and are to face the competitive world that awaits.

Finally, we are here to win teach the game of volleyball at the highest level, get our kids prepared for their high school seasons, get our kids recruited to play college volleyball, and most importantly to win gold medals.

Thank you for taking the time to look into The HBC.

We are a NATIONALLY RANKED and recognized volleyball club based in HUNTINGTON BEACH California. The HBC is dedicated to giving all boys the opportunity to play volleyball, while also teaching the game at its highest level through hard work, discipline and TEAM. We also emphasize the fun of the game, while at the same time, not being afraid to coach and correct our players to maximise their talents.

Parents and players,
In today’s game there are (2)- important challenges to deal with: (1)-club volleyball is big business. With so many clubs in your area to choose from and school coaches now being allowed to coach their players year round, it is critical to make sure you find the club that best fits you son, not just filling-out another team in a volleyball club program.

Challenge (2)- is the transfer rule that governs High School volleyball. At this time and for the foreseeable future, students are allowed to transfer schools with minimal obstruction or having to sit out. This means, what a player and his parents perceive as his pathway to making the program, a starting spot on a team, or joining the VARSITY at some time, could be a false reality. At any time a player from another school can transfer into your school and what YOU THOUGHT WAS YOUR TIME, IS NOW A LOT MORE CHALLENGING.

For these reasons, it is crucial that you do two things……TAKE CARE OF HOW “YOU” TRAIN and HOW “YOU” DEVELOP AS A PLAYER! Don’t just sign-up for a program that is local, where your friends are playing at and its comfortable, or one, just because your school coach is involved with it. Please take the time to find a club volleyball program that will make you the best player you can be, in the few years you have to play junior volleyball! If you can find a club and it involves all the things listed above, great! If not, FIND IT and don’t be afraid to drive, it will pay off.

It is a competitive world both on and off the court. Spend your time and money wisely by finding a program that will push you to your limits and then some more!

GOOD LUCK!

The HBC.
